Classified is a technology that combines the benefits of 1x and 2x drivetrains into one without the downsides of either system.

By adding an innovative clutch gear to the rear hub it brings you the fantastic gear range of a 2x drivetrain with the beautiful simplicity of a 1x drivetrain.

Classified Powershift Technology is a wireless shifting technology that allows you to shift gears instantly and under full load. Its first application is the Powershift hub, which replaces the front derailleur and thus the requirement of 2 chainrings. These 2 gear ratios are moved into the rear hub, the Powershift hub. The Powershift hub offers unrivalled shift quality, high gearing range and small steps in between gears. 

The system can be added to any of our bikes and will be discussed at the design stage. We can also retro fit it to existing builds or bikes other than our own.

The ratio is similar to what you'd find on a 2x-setup. The ratio is roughly equivalent to 53/36, 50/34 or 48/33 chainrings for example. We’ll explain all this during the design stage of your bike.

The hub has two speeds. In Direct Drive it is 1:1; meaning the cassette and hub have the same speed. In Under Drive it has a ratio of 0.686, which means that for each revolution on the cassette, the wheel rotates 0,686 revolutions. We call this 0.7. Under Drive effectively replaces the smaller chainring on a regular 2x-crankset.

The Classified Powershift system requires a proprietary rear hub shell which is why they manufacture their own wheels.

We offer the full range of Classified wheelsets and can discuss all of the options with you while designing your bike. We have also partnered with additional wheel manufacturers that are now producing wheels with the Classified hubs.
