Bike fitting.

We use Shimano’s Bike Fitting 2D Analyser tool and software to enable us to produce your custom bike so that it is as close to a tailored suit as it can be, without the need of a custom built frame. Our frames are hand made and come in many sizes so coupled with Bike Fitting data we can produce your perfect fitting bike.

This service is included free of charge as part of your Forwards Bike purchase to ensure that we produce the perfect custom bike for you.

Using the Bike Fitting 2D Analyser tool we can determine the following measurements to enter into our Bike Fitting Software.

Height
Torso height
Inseam height
Left arm
Right arm
Left foot
Right foot
Shoulder width

The combination of the data that we input and the extensive database within the software will generate a report with your perfect bike fit measurements for us to build your bike. It’s worth noting at this early stage that this is a solid starting point for us to build your bike. It is an absolutely perfect solution for what we want to achieve which is to specify your perfect custom bike.

This method does not however take into account injuries, flexibility and experience. All of which can affect your bike fitting. We’ll talk this through with you to work out what may need to be adjusted to suit you.

All of the Forwards frame models vital measurements are pre loaded into the Bike Fitting software and it will recommend a frame size and generate a report with the component measurements and bike setup. We can modify the recommended frame size according to your desired riding characteristics if you wish and the software makes the relevant adjustments accordingly.

We will build your bike with the information given from the report and any specific injury and flexibility information from you. Things can be changed after the build, like stems for example, so it’s not all set in stone forever.

Once we have a detailed report we can then transfer the numbers to your actual bike using our Bike Fitting XY Axis Bike Adjuster.

The saddle selector tools that we use are an integrated part of the Bike Fitting process and it is vitally important to get this right.

We use a Bike Fitting saddle selector in combination with an Ergon Sit-Bone-Width analyser to determine your perfect saddle based on your sit bone width and riding posture.

As an Ergon Official Stockist we have a number of saddles in stock for you to choose from for both women and men.

We also offer a ‘foot pedal interface’ fitting service to optimise your cleat position if you use clipless pedals.

The perfect shoe and cleat setup is essential to prevent injury, enhance comfort, control and ensure perfect power delivery on your bike. We have the knowledge and tools to setup your foot pedal interface to perfection.
