We’ve reinvented our road bike. The ultimate individual road bike that offers unparalleled customisation at its price point. A road bike designed and built by a gravel bike manufacturer. A bike that leans more towards our roots than our original road offering. One is a road bike that bends the rules. It’s all in the name, it’s 1x. Customised paint, graphics, contact points, drivetrain, wheels, tyres, tape and much more come as standard. As with all Forwards bikes, we’ve not compromised with specification and reliability, so only the absolute finest parts are present. One has been developed through testing and knowledge of 1x drivetrains and its performance is polished as you’d expect from us. One bridges the boundaries of todays smooth and battered roads, sweeping country lanes and gravel tracks. It’s a modern bike that takes it all in its stride, delivering superb performance and comfort all day long and now, with the Classified Edition, 1x just got even better.

Classified Powershift Technology is a wireless shifting technology that allows you to shift gears instantly and under full load. Its first application is the Powershift hub, which replaces the front derailleur. The Powershift hub offers unrivalled shift quality, high gearing range and small steps in between gears combining the benefits of both 1x and 2x.

Our bike graphics are tastefully subtle and feature 30mm tall ‘Forwards’ on the main down tube and the model name on the back of the top tube, 20mm wide. The production number is on the inner side of the left hand chain stay and is 10mm tall. They also have a small Union Jack on the back of the seat tube to mark that they are assembled by hand, here in the UK.
The graphics are airbrushed onto the frame by our Artisan painters, flat polished and clear coated to create a seamless transition between graphic and chassis colour. You can also choose the graphic colour to compliment the chassis colour.

Every Forwards Bike is individually numbered according to its production. This number continues to increase across our entire range of models. We introduced the numbering on build number 10 and the number is 10mm tall to mark this event.
One Carbon Frame & Forks

Our chosen frames are manufactured with a specific mix of Toray T700 and T800 carbon fibre. T700 and T800 is a suitable mix for the stresses and strains of a performance road bike and balances reduced weight and performance without compromising strength and comfort. The frames are EPS moulded and EN tested.

The integrated oversized FSA headset offers precise handling and steering with aesthetic perfection. With its full 1 1/2” bearing system its superbly stiff and silky smooth. Smoothness and reliability is not compromised with integrated cabling.

Hoses and cables are integrated into the main frame without headset integration. We’ve chosen this approach over fully integrated to allow beautifully smooth steering performance and an ease of maintenance. The Shimano EW-RS910 junction box is beautifully mounted in the frame down tube offering easy access to the charge port, LED indicators and system button.
Components.

Exceptional reliability was what we wanted with the drivetrain so we didn’t compromise at all. Gearing is offered by the stunning Shimano GRX 1x Di2 groupset which is partnered with the Classified Powershift system. This version of the One is running a 1x22 speed electronic groupset and we can customise gear ratios and crank lengths to suit your requirements. E-tube and hoses are fully integrated into the frame. The E-tube junction box is beautifully mounted into the frame not the end of the bar. The system buttons can be customised as standard with Di2 and buttons can be mapped to control your Wahoo or Garmin with the included wireless unit. The Classified Powershift hub is controlled via a sprint shifter which can be located to suit the customers requirement.

We wanted this to be perfect as bottom brackets can be a total pain, so we’ve specified the threaded BSA-68 standard for our bottom bracket to ensure reliability and precision. The design incorporates a full 68mm lightened aluminium bottom bracket sleeve which is bonded into the carbon fibre frame. We have specified a Praxis Works BSA68-24/30 bottom bracket for superior performance and reliability. We have been using Praxis Works BBs across our fleet of bikes for many years now and have been extremely happy with the performance of them. Feedback from our research group was to fit a great BB, so we have.
We now offer an Enduro Abec 5 bottom bracket bearing upgrade.

Braking is performed via the Shimano GRX STI levers and callipers through to the XTR centre lock rotors. We’ve used 140mm front and 140mm rear rotors here but you can choose these to suit your requirements.
Contact Points.

The points of contact on your bike are exceptionally important which is why we’ve taken our time to test a number of combinations with critical real world racing feedback. After testing with our original road bike we have abandoned the original cockpit and aligned our One road bike to our gravel bikes by fitting Pro components. We have specified Pro Vibe handlebars and stem for the One. Carbon fibre and alloy options are available as are aero and round options. Here we have also specified our signature steerer chimney to allow the steerer to pass through the stem but can flush mount this if preferred.

We’ve chosen the Pro Stealth Performance saddle which is available in 2 sizes and has proven to be an extremely comfortable saddle. We can measure you up for this on our dedicated tool before you place your order if you wish. The carbon fibre seat post is our own and at just 180 grams it’s really light and offers superb micro adjustment and comfort.
Wheels & Tyres.

One Classified can be specified with either the Classified R35 or R50 Carbon Aero wheels as standard. The rear hub contains the Classified Powershift gear system itself.

We set these up tubeless with a variety of tyre choices and widths up to a maximum of 32mm.
Attention to Detail.

All of our bikes feature stainless steel allen key bolts and washers with the length matched to the application area on the bike. We’ve also weighed them and they’re 1g lighter for a bolt and washer over the originally supplied part from the factory. We also use additional stainless steel locking washers in key areas to prevent accessories shaking loose.
Our bikes feature a stainless steel seat bolt and lock washer to prevent rusting in this area.
We became a little obsessed with the rubber plugs for blanking the unused holes in the frame left over from using a 1x groupset and source our own for a far superior fit.
All of our bikes are fitted with Bike Shield at the time of manufacture to protect the paint from chips and scratches in certain areas. This is on the underside of the downtube, top of the chainstay and small patches over the disc brake calliper mounts.
