bike range theory.
We’ve often talked to our customers about our bikes and how they all fit together to form a well sorted range.
We have made this fancy 3D bar to visualise our bike range theory. For us, it’s really straight forward and made more so with this.
We’re basically saying that our gravel bike lands in the middle of it all with its huge flexibility. Our gravel bikes are able to bridge a wide range of terrain due to the well thought out design and specification.
We’re not saying you can’t ride our gravel bikes on smooth roads, you obviously can. We’re saying that if smooth roads is all you want to ride then a road bike would be better for you. At the other end of the scale we’re not saying you can’t ride really rough terrain either. You’ll be blown away with what you can do on one of our gravel bikes. What we’re saying is that if really rough terrain is all you want to ride, you may prefer one our mountain bikes.
At the smooth road end of the scale we’re also not saying you can’t ride one of our road bikes towards the centre of our flexibility scale but you’d certainly be more comfortable on a gravel bike when the roads start breaking up. On our gravel bike you’d also be able to swap out wheels or tyres to bridge even further towards smooth roads.
Likewise, at the rough terrain end of the scale when it gets really rough, our mountain bike would be blast and eat up the terrain with ease but as you come back towards the centre of the scale and the terrain smooths out you’ll find it’ll start to hold you back a bit as they’re bigger, heavier and have more drag. Saying that, our mountain bike isn’t that heavy and is pretty awesome!
In conclusion, our Forwards bikes flexibility scale is simply a visualisation to help understand our bike range theory and how staggering our gravel bike is.
