Forwards GR20 gravel bike with alternative graphics option.
So we’ve updated or, should we say, introduced an alternative graphics option from the original design. We have also included a few more notes here to keep you up to date with the progress and evolution of the bike.
Graphics
For the alternative, we have moved the Forwards graphic from the rear of the top tube and positioned it in the more conventional location on the sides of the down tube.
We have also moved the model name from the top front of the down tube to the rear of the top tube where the Forwards graphic is on the original design.
We introduced the production number on the inside of the none drive side chain stay on bike number 10.
We also offer bespoke custom “add on” graphics. These maybe slogans, dates, names for example.
If you are a fan of the original design graphics don’t panic, we still offer that. We are just giving you more options that’s all.
Alternative Design - Brand logo on the down tube, 30mm tall font.
All models and graphics options - Production number inside the none drive side chain stay. These are 10mm tall as a tip of the hat to bike number 10 where it first appeared.
Alternative Design - Model name on the top tube at the rear, 20mm wide.
NEW Gravel Bike Bar Tape
We have introduced a new bar tape. The BBB gravel bar tape is 3mm thick and it offers superb comfort and grip. It wraps beautifully to boot. We love the matching inner finishing tape. Currently this is only available in black which suits us just fine as it looks better for longer and black goes with everything. We wrap in figure 8 with a shifter clamp strip and start the wrap in our own special way.
Wheels & Tyres
We fitted this refresh with 700c Sector GCA gravel wheels so you can see the difference from the 650b wheels. We have wrapped them with Hutchinson Override Tan wall tyres in 700 x 38c and are running them tubeless at 40 psi with 120ml of orange seal. We are mainly using this setup on the road which is why we’re running the tyres quite hard. The rider is 70kg.
Stainless Steel Nuts & Washers
Every Forwards bike is supplied with stainless steel bolts and washers. For weight weenies, the M5x16mm stainless bolt and stainless washer weighs 2g which is 1g lighter than the stock ones at 3g. Across a GR20 this is 24g saving. We even swap out the seat clamp bolt and washer to stainless steel as we were not happy with the quality of the supplied ones.
