Well, my Saturday fortune cookie was certainly helpful! Let’s learn from my mistakes!
Hot takes from the CX this weekend:
1) When a very experienced Jamie Smith asks, ‘are you in the right gear Ian’ on the start line, suck it up and listen to him! No Jamie, I wasn’t! 🤦♂️
2) When you’ve practiced in the morning on frozen ground and, now the ground has thawed, know you’re probably on the wrong tyres, don’t hit the first off camber section and try to make up all the places you lost because you didn’t listen to Jamie! See note 1!
3) Pressure washers freeze up in the van over night rendering them totally useless.
4) …so do Aqua Rolls.
5) You need someone in the pits who can actually wash your bike instead of stitching up a very helpful @lowmasswheels Ben who already had his work cut out with a fast paced Max Darnton. Thanks Ben 🤙
