Sustainability.

General recycling.

• Cardboard box and packing recycled and used for packing online purchases from our eBay and web shops.

• Southampton City Council green bin recycling of cardboard, paper, plastics and cans.

• Metal recycling of bike parts via local metal collection and sent to a Southampton based Metal Recycling Centre.

Responsible suppliers and manufacturers.

• Many of our suppliers only use recycled and/or recyclable packing.

• We are seeing manufacturers like Shimano moving to paper for internal packing rather than plastic bags.

Clean energy.

• Our electric is supplied by Octopus Energy and is 100% Green. All our electricity comes from 100% renewable sources like sun, wind and water.

• We use low energy zoned LED lighting at our premises to reduce our electricity consumption.

• We use a heat pump heating system to heat our office and customer waiting area to further reduce our electricity consumption.

Clean transport.

• We cycle to work via the cycling network and support the Cycle Scheme.

• We use electric cargo bikes in and around the city for deliveries, collections, parcel drop off’s and commuting on rest days.

• We use and support the My Journey Southampton Rides Scheme to promote the use of electric cargo bikes in and around large cities.

Chemicals.

• We use a solvent free bioremediating parts washer for bike parts cleaning.

• We have partnered with Muc-Off for all of our other cleaning, protection and lubrication products as many of these are biodegradable and the brand is focusing on reducing plastics, PTFE and packaging via Project Green which we support.
